ABOUT

Jr. Clippers is the LA Clippers’ official youth basketball program, bringing the fun with camps, leagues, clinics, and more! Now with Grow Her Game, our exciting new girls’ basketball initiative presented by CarMax, we’re taking things to the next level. Our mission? To elevate local youth basketball and inspire more girls to join the game!

The platform includes Grow Her Game basketball clinics across Los Angeles. These clinics, along with two parent/coach workshops led by the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport (CHJS), aim to foster a supportive environment for girls’ basketball. The Clippers also released the Grow Her Game girls coaching guide, a comprehensive resource developed in collaboration with CHJS. This guide, tailored for Jr. Clippers coaches across Southern California, focuses on best practices for coaching girls in the sport.

Looking ahead, the Clippers have an exciting Grow Her Game 8-week leadership academy planned for the Fall ’24 and Spring ’25 in collaboration with GPLA and PeacePlayers Los Angeles. This initiative not only develops basketball skills but also nurtures leadership qualities and builds confidence among participants.

Testimonials

“My daughter came into this program not even knowing how to catch the ball, let alone dribble or shoot. Within a couple weeks, she’s catching, dribbling AND shooting. EVERY drill, social activity, and guest speaker was perfectly executed in a fun, cohesive, and creative way. EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE PROGRAM!! I’ve honestly never seen anything like it!" - Raquel P.
"We love joining these events and appreciate that there were many staff members to coach the kids throughout the sessions. Glad to see the coaches are very hands on and very helpful. In addition, all staff we encountered were friendly." - Kevin C.
"My daughter absolutely loved this event! She is already a very positive child but this was very comfortable for her. She asked when she needed to return again. Thank you for creating a fun, positive and comfortable event for young girls." - Lizet M.
"Appreciate the opportunity and encouragement towards girls in sports." - Genesis S.
"At first my daughter was shy and very nervous, but after she met the coaches, she really opened up got aggressive and loved every clinic." - Irene D.
"This was such an inspiring and amazing program that was super fun for my kiddo." - Sabrina S.
"My daughter loved the clinic. It was so positive and motivating. The different stations, guests speaker, and friendship bracelets were amazing. Very encouraging and proud to be a part of it. I hope my daughter gets to be part of it again! - Yvette G.
"Huge display of respect and leadership demonstrated by all staff, witnessed by young ladies--very impressive." - Jennifer B.
"It's always a great experience, each event always makes you grow as an athlete." - Yareli G.
"Great experience for my daughter as these events can help keep her motivated. Our children put in a lot of hard work and this gives them that reward that we may not be able to create for them and the experience of a life time that they can share with new friends that have the same common goal. Much Appreciated!!" - Jorge G.
"Really liked and appreciated the words and messages that the coaches gave my daughter. Believing in herself, which were very good, compared to other clinics for other sports that we have gone to." - Norman S.
"We love what [the Jr. Clippers] continue to do for our community and our young athletes." - Sherleey C.
"Both my girls had a fun experience learning from professionals on how to better their skills and interest in basketball." - Rowena H.
